So, what is it about our hobbies that make them 'therapy' while we spend our days doing such stressful things for a living. I know my students, while they have stressful jobs, they are also doing something that they enjoy and that they feel is important, but I'm sure it is good for them to be able to come into the studio and not be a teacher, nurse, doctor, lawyer, mother, etc for a while. I remember a pottery friend telling me at one point in time that she did NOT want to do pottery as a profession because then it would be a JOB and not something fun. I don't really feel that way. While working at the studio can be stressful at times, I'm still really happy that I'm finally making some money doing something that I really love and I enjoy being able to share that with people.
So, I guess the therapist is in, for what it's worth ;) I hope my students know that they are, in many ways, a blessing to me, even when the night gets late or the morning is early and I'm not my usual charming self.
Finally, I'm adding things to my ETSY site. Take a look and tell me what you think.
