This experience made me wonder, how do we define an expert anyways. Obviously, an expert is someone who knows a lot about a particular subject, but does one ever truly become a top expert in a field, knowing all there is to know about a subject? If one ever did reach the point where there was nothing left to learn, wouldn't that be a shame since the joy comes from the discovery of learning something new.
I guess I'll be the expert in the room at times, but I'm also glad to know that I still have lots to learn and that the joy of leaning never lessens.
In other news, I have a load of 75 pots recently unloaded from the reduction kiln plus another 20 or so in the soda kiln that will be unloaded this afternoon. I've still got lots to do before the sale on Saturday, but things are looking good!
