I think the best thing about being in grad school is that I now have a strong impetus to make lots of work, and not just cups and bowls to sell in the Potters Guild sale, but work with a more art bent to it. Going back to school was a big decision for me, but I really feel like it's the right thing to do, both as a pottery instructor and as an artist. For the first time this year I have sold more work (in dollars) that's sculptural in nature than the amount of functional work that I have sold. I really take this as a sign that this is where I need to focus my energy, which is nice since that's really where my heart is.
I'm currently casting some ceramic houses as well as finishing up a ceramic triptych, carving some wood and casting some acrylic. I will post images for you all once things are finished up.
Hope you all are having a great week and stay warm :)
