So here is my question: We encourage our children to explore and cultivate their creativity through art, music, writing, etc, but as adults we push our need for creative expression aside in favor of the task of earning a pay check and raising our children. It isn't until we are much older that we allow ourselves to be creative again. How much better would our lives be if we allowed ourselves to be creative and gave ourselves the time to learn and explore like we did as children?
Of course, trying to do just that is, unfortunately, often a source of stress in my life. I sometimes think things would be so much easier for me if I could just go to a 9-5 job, take care of my kiddos, keep the house clean and have evenings and weekends free! But, then I remember that I was really unhappy during the time where I did just that because I found that I had all of these artistic ideas coming into my head that, if I was lucky, I was able to get jotted down into a sketch book, but never had the time to explore them further.
Well, just another musing that doesn't really lead to an answer...It's just an observation.
P.S. Just thinking about some of the sales that I've had these last few weeks...It really is pretty cool when someone is willing to spend their hard earned cash for something that I've made with my own two hands, Black Friday sales be damned!
